Coordinating body – NWC Research and Extension Team
Controlling authority – NWC Disaster Rehab and Preparedness Committee with oversight from NWC Board.
Process-
– NWC will advertise and promote amongst its members an opportunity to participate in a cost-sharing on irrigation materials at a rate of 1/3 – 2/3, whereby the farmer contributes 1/3 of the cost of the irrigation equipment and NWC (through MFAT grant funding) pays the remaining 2/3.
– NWC will host a trade demo at its next AGM (December 2017) to introduce its members to the different irrigation technologies/products available under the scheme
– NWC Disaster Rehab and Preparedness Committee will review the applications and facilitate the procurement and supply of the items following the deposit of members contribution to NWC.
Guidelines for reviewing applications –
- Maximum grant allocation for any one member – the total grant available for any one farmer is set at $2,000 (NWC/MFAT contribution)
- Agreement on ownership arrangements (farmers not allowed to re-sell equipment for a period of 5 years)
- Final decision on all applications will rest with the NWC Disaster Rehab and Preparedness Committee
